Has anyone ever ridden a sucker punch sally bobber? I was in Daytona over Memorial weekend and got to see a few at the dealership down there. I would like to know how they ride? I am searching for a first bike and know that they would not be good for that But I would like to have a sucker punch for my long term ride. I find that being short I fit on it perfectly and comfortably but since I only have a permit it is hard to test ride. Any one out there who can tell me something about them let me know! Thanks! Here is a pic of exactly what I am looking at!

You gotta be kidding... a Hard tail for your first bike?
Do you want to have a short life full of back and kidney problems?
No spring seat will save you from it too.
If you like the bobber look, have someone build you a bobber that has suspension.
Then, you can put your  spring seat, which by the way is not comfortable for long rides over an hour or two.
Bobbers are town bikes like bar hoppers are.
You can take em for a long ride but, you'll be damn happy when you get off.

Whoah, wait I did not say for my first bike. I need a trainer first. This is a few years down the road as a long term bike. I know that it is only good for short rides, I only plan on riding it when I am in a group ride or around town with my old man and his bike. Long trips - I am perfectly happy to hold on to the back of my man! So as I understand it this is a good bike for what I want in the long run. If you have any other suggestions for a 5' 3'' person let me know. For my trainer (first bike) I am actually looking at a triumph bonneville, again I am looking at a height problem though. I need about two inch heels on my shoes! Wonder if I can operate the controls in high heeled boots? Theres a thought!

Yeah you could but, I still wouldn't recommend a hard tail for anything.
Stay away from the "stiffies"... bikes that is........

Hard tails are good for looks but are a total bitch on not only the lower back but your whole body. They weren't designed for long distances. Take it from an ol timer. I know. DJD and DDD. Loads of pain. Get a bike with a hardtail look but is a softtail.

I will keep that in mind boys, when I go to purchase the one with out the training wheels. lol
Like I said though, it's the whole height thing that's kickin me in the aerse. I am really freightened I will be stuck with only one choice from each brand of bike. My hubby is not too happy about the idae of going custom - he even bitched about the fact that the sucker punch is a custom paint. We have a few years to find an even ground. I eventually get what I want - like Erkel from family matters I just wear him down!

Soft tail to hard tail will not be an issue with height at all.
Your going for a look.
Low seat height but, a look just the same.
Anyone can build you a bobber with suspension.

Seriously I have built some low cost bikes and my current project seems to be on going. If you are in CA I can set you up with an Aermacchi Chopper. It has a 250 cc engine. I am heavy in the Aermacchi bikes. my current project is coming slow but will be sweet.

Again thanks guys, you two seem to be very knowledgable and experienced in the building from the ground up of a bike. Unfourtunatly Boot I am stuck in NC. Given my background in Film though I had hopped at one point to come out that way but.... Life happened! I went looking around again this past weekend and though this new bike that I saw is heavier than a Sucker Punch I think it will do - that and my hubby did not like the sucker punch so it is definetly out! This new bike is a 900cc Vulcan that Britts in Wilminton has. Apparently theu got smart and did up some bikes specifically with women in mind. Great marketing tactic, I wish people here in the capital of NC would get smart like them!

Here is the pic of the one that the hubby and I can agree upon. He is still concerned about the weight but they have crash bars available! My favorite part is it has a gas gauge! Everything that fits my height that is ready made has no gas gauge. Seriously I am a chick I look at is it comfortable, good looking and is the paint job pretty. lol I know me and I will not pay attention to a milage gauge for fuel. I could not even tell you how many miles are on my car, I can tell you I will need fuel in the next couple of days via the gas gauge though. Forgive me I am a girl! Soo since this bike has a gas gauge, it makes the cut! Now all I need is a little more for the down payment! She's mine damn it!

Thats a nice "reliable" scoot with a woman's view indeed.
Should last forever and give you any issues like some HD's..... some?
Weight is a leverage issue.
If you can plant your feet on the ground, you can handle it.

After owning a honda 750 shadow for 2 years and 2000 miles  Princess [my wife] didn't feel safe on a bike so we got one of these. Boss Hoss trike with auto trans. Gas milage sucks  but u have a lot of smiles per mile and she has no problems keeping up with the hopped up HDs

We ride a lot with two guys who have vulcans, now I think they have 1200 and I know that a difference in cc = a diference in engine torque and power but I'm a girl so the engine math escapes me. Worst comes to worst, they are nice enough guys that they will not leave me behind and truthfully they will probable do the right thing and make me ride up front for longer than I wish to. I know I will be spoiled by them simply because when we went to Willimgton and I found this bike all of a sudden everyone had something to say about it, all good but the attention that they all dote on me is almost laughable. I thinks it is because I will be one of two girls that ride their own. And I don't see the other girl much! lol Now if oly they had money!!!!!!!! Naugh, I could not do that to my hubby, nice thought for a day dream though!!! Again guys keep the comment coming, I am taking them into concideration. I do want something that is "me" but I want something that s not going to kill me either since I am a beginner and Damn, riding a horse is a lot easier! Especially when the horse throws you - you can blame the horse, the bike well, it's pretty much your own fault or at least some of your own fault!

Sled, I have thought about trying that too but .... Being a beginner I want to see if I can master the hard part first, the catch between the clutch and the gas is a bitch for me in a car and apparently on a bike. Once I learn this, I should be good. I would like to eventually go with  trike though once I get tired or once I get too weak to hold up a bike. If I live to see 70 or beyond That seems like a good time to trike it. Until then wellll we will see how I do.

Apachecelt--That 900 Kow looks like a nice bike. It will have plenty of power and a easy clutch to pull in. Get the Hwy bars  before u take for your first spin. u will not be sorry.

I know, man I am glad that the hubby's bike had crash bars, I figured what I call crash bars is what you are referring to as highway bars, when he decided to try to let me ride his electra glide. That we decided is a bit to big for me. I could put my feet flat once he let all the air out of the shocks but between the muscle of the old evo  and the fact that everything is manual - it did not go well. Needless to say we now need to replace his crash bars since I managed to twist them to the point that they were in the way of the gear shift. So yes I agree crash bars good, my wreck would've been a lot worse then a skinned knee and a skinned wrist with a blue tinted hand. Now that was two weekends ago and I so badly want to get back on, just not on that one!!!
